I wish I was in Kos now and meet ya for a drink or two but my university studies here in Boro finish in about 20 days... (is obvious I'm counting them down, isn't it)
Oh well...I dont know for how long you gona stay in Kos or if you do the trip on a bike, but if you do, have a ride around, just bear in mind...
1) You may have noticed that the quality of tarmac is not like in UK; Sadly mirror smooth roads, potholes gallore in some streets or bad repaired ones are common...great if you want to experience an off road experience on tarmac with a trial bike ...but with a supersports....ouch! However is not all bad, you can still get some decent roads under your ruber.
2) Watch out for stray animals in the town or the country roads, they sometimes get suicidal and jump infront of you out of nowhere. (seriously, I had a couple of offs in the past because of them)
3) Watch out for other riders/drivers, some of them like to show off and sometimes (or shall I say most of the times) do stupid things.
4) The island is relatively small and easily explored within a couple of days maybe a day if you rush around to see everything in one go. A bike with off-road capabilities will give you access to many other roads to play around and fully explore the island.
5) Well, just have a great time!
Hope the above are helpfull, if you need more info just give a shout!
I can't help it but feel abit homesick now...*sigh*

Thank you for your replies all! Outkast, I have been in Durham quite a few times, I realy love the Christmas market they make every year as the town gets full of people, also its not smogy like here (Sorry Boro riders but its a fact I think) for an unknown reason looks to me like a smaller version of York. I was looking the BSB callendar the other day and I noticed that the Croft racetrack is nearby too, I will try to get on that race if I come early enough for my Masters in September.

I was looking through the forum and I noticed that karter is on an expediton. Karter, I guess you can ignore my advice as you may have experience it first hand by now. Still I hope you have a great time in Turkey and the rest of the massive trip. Any chance of pics from the whole adventure?

We only passed through on our way to Bodrum.
I liked the town, but the tourist part with all the tavernas and apartments were awful. I tink we're due back around the 20th for another day and then we're back to Turkey for the next couple of months.
Now then, Middlesbrough or Kos- no wonder you're homesick.
Good luck with your exams and see you on the board.
