Hi all

Hope you've had a good weekend. I'll tell you what, the unprecedented popularity of the forum has been a nice surprise.

Can I ask everyone to keep their avatars below 100x100 pixels please? Larger ones start to eat into the server space and until we know how many people we'll have it's better to keep on the safe side.

Thanks

This was posted over a year ago and has now been merged to avoid too many "stickies" at the top of the page.  We continue to appreciate your on-going efforts to keep the avatar sizes down.  Thanks.

karTER

Welcome to BIKe Magazine's forum!

Here Art Our ELEVEN
(formerly nine) Commandments

Please take a moment to read and remember these rules before posting.

Thou Shalt Not Spam
Non bike related adverts are not welcome here. Please note, however, that this is a privilege and posting repeatedly or trying to 'hard sell' your ad may begin to draw flak from other forum users.

Thou Shalt Post in the Correct Forum
Please make sure when starting a new topic that you post it in the correct section. If your topic has to be moved by a staffer then we'll have less time to make the next wonderful issue of BIKe. Just because a topic is likely to be seen by more people in a particular section, doesn't mean it belongs there.

Thou Shalt Not Abuse Avatars & Signatures
The rules concerning your avatar and sig are simple: No adverts, no pornography and nothing that could be considered offensive. If in doubt, DON'T USE IT. Please stick to the rules, otherwise your avatar or signature privilege will be removed.

Thou Shalt Not Post NON-PG Material Without Warning
If you want to post a nudie picture or a link to your favourite porno site we'd rather you didn't as this is a motorbike forum, but if you absolutely MUST post something unsuitable for kiddies or those of a weak constitution, YOU MUST WARN PEOPLE. People browse this forum from work, and not everybody's boss is as understanding as Hank Scorpio. Please insert NOT WORK SAFE where necessary or you will be removed, like.

Thou Shalt Understand the Complaints Procedure
Not happy with the conduct of a member or moderator? First of all, consider sending them a polite PM explaining your dislike of their actions. Reasonable people can settle their differences. The next stage is to PM a moderator (karTER, SimonW or MFG) with details and an explanation. They will try to resolve an issue when next possible - please remember that staff members write a magazine first and foremost. If you're still not happy, you may contact the board admin, KhalH. But please do try to sort it out like mature, sensible people. Because you are, right?

Thou Shalt Not Flame, Abuse, Insult or Generally Be a Cock To Other Users
Anyone deciding to harass or fling personal insults at fellow members, moderators or Bike magazine staff will have ONE warning via PM (and, where possible, email as a courtesy) and may then be banned and have their IP address blocked. Understand now that this behaviour is NEVER acceptable. If you have a grievance with a member, see the Complaints Procedure. Resorting to 'but he/she said...' will not help your case.

Thou Shalt Learn to Spell and Write
Your writings here are your representation of yourself. If you come across as an illiterate seven year old, you will be treated as one. Please take the time to spell check and proof read your posts, there's no rush, and the whole forum will be much more pleasant to read.

Thou Shalt Not Ask Pointless Questions
If you have a question to ask, please take a few moments to look through the Help section and use the search function. Often you will find that your question has been asked and answered before.

Thou Shalt Try to Fit In
When you're new, things are difficult. You will often find the regulars posting things that you don't understand or cracking jokes that seem completely alien to you. If you try to get to know these people, and not rush into trying for Mr Popular, you'll find you get on with us much better. Hang around a while, come to a meet up or two and you'll soon find yourself one of the gang.

Thou Shalt Not Abuse The Forum
Registering multiple user names or trying to break into other users' accounts are not allowed. The mods have seen it all by now and you won't get away with it, so do yourself a favour and don't bother trying.

Thou Shalt Know Who Thy Talk To
What with this being Bike Magazine's forum, and all, many staff members regularly post on the forum. They're also happy to receive PMs, answer questions and generally be lovely human beings.

KhalH (Administrator and staff member)
SiH (Staff member)
MFG (Staff member)
SimonW (Staff member)
BenC594 (Staff member)
Dan Walsh (Staff member)
Rupert Paul (Staff member)
karTER (Moderator)

Last of all, enjoy!
