Not sure if this is an actual account of what was said (or if it has been posted before) but it did make me think......
PROUD TO BE WHITE?
Very interesting reading!
Perhaps we should get rid of the term 'racist'
all together and just live our lives...
Michael Richards better known as Kramer
from tv's Seinfeld. This was his defence speech in court
after making racial comments in his comedy act.
He makes some very interesting points. Proud To Be
White. Someone finally said it. How many are actually
paying attention to this?
There are African Americans, Mexican Americans,
Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc.
And then there are just Americans.
You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.
You Call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey', 'White
Trash', 'White Shit', 'Whitey,' 'Caveman' ... and that's
OK.
But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger,
Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink ...You call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you,
so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin
Luther King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar
Chavez Day. You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma'uled
Al-Nabi. You have the NAACP. You have BET.
If we had WET (White Entertainment Television) we'd be
racists. If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.
If we had White History Month , we'd be racists. If we had any
organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR lives we'd be racists.
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber
of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.
Wonder who pays for that? A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, but any colour can be in the Miss America pageant.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships you know we'd be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US. Yet if there were 'White colleges' THAT would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and
rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.
I am proud. But you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racists?

It makes interesting points. In the UK on the BBC we have the Asian Network. Is there a corresponding British persons network? Or a white police officers association?
Racism is horrible. But to imagine that it's just white people who are racist is bonkers.

Not really, having been the brunt of ridicule all my life due to my background I could have claimed racial abuse but you have to be real about things. Beleive me when someone was being out of order towrads me then I stood my ground. Some points are very valid. You used to have a programme on the beeb I think, called ebony, could you have a programme called Ivory and get away with it?
Granted, the twats that used to chant "there aint no black in the union jack" or who went around paki bashing, or those who make such statements as " he is ok for a blackman" are complete pricks but it does work both ways surely?

I agree. I remember watching the MOBO awards on TV, some guy was telling jokes about white people (ie: can u imagine Music of White Origin awards? it'd be like...) and I thought something was a bit out of place.

Yep that is when it starts sounding personal. Although I have had nicknames that could border on this so I wonder how they would be deemed?

Well, the joke really should of been left at the "caveman" bit, the rest gave the joke a more racist slant on the whole thing, he's opened himself up for it a bit after that.

Far from being racist myself I pose the following qeustion, you dont have to respond but answer it honestly to yourself.....
Have you ever been cut up by another driver when either on your bike or in your car and muttered something along the lines of:
"you old git!"
"fucking women!"
"Stupid paki!"
"Black c---"
"white pratt!"
I would hazard a guess that if any of have said "never" then you may not be telling the whole truth.

Sorry but I cant answer this thread,my 10ft pole is away for repair and I dont have a spare one ,there are some on ebay but I think they are only 9ft 6,Amazon want to ship me one from taiwan but its 2 metres 85 cm,is that 10ft?
