We'll be in Kos on Tuesday, 20th May for one day- as part of our cruise.  You may be back by then and might perhaps fancy a quick pint or so?

That lot has cheered me up no end. Ta. Today I'm dealing with the suicide of an 80 year old lady parishioner who was diagnosed with Alzheimers and didn't want to be a burden on her family. Tomorrow I have to deliver the funeral oration for a much loved 95 year old aunt, and have spent much of the day writing it. But it's sunny and my beautiful lady wife has just brought me a cuppa, so things are looking up.

If you need cheering up try this.

Pick a point in history. Any point will do. Compare the problems then to the actual problems you have now. And if your realistic you might just find that contrary to what the media and doom mongers spout you are living in a golden age.

The poorest of the poor have a roof over their head that is better than the roof over the head of millions in other countries. Most diseases can either be cured or held at bay where once a cold could be a death sentence. German bombers are not pounding the shit out of your towns or cities relentlessly every night and you do not have the near certainty of being called to go to war. You have plenty of food. A motorcycle to ride. Govt despite its failings is not a fascist dictatorship that robs you of freedom or denies your rights. I could go on and on.

Folks we live in the safest, cleanest, most secure time in mans long history. At least those of us in Europe or the USA or any other western style democracy. Sure some things are crap. Some things don't work too well. There are problems. But for the vast majority life has never been better.

Don't believe it? Go live in medieval London? or WW2 Russia? or any one of the developing world's countries. Zimbabwe anyone?

Now smile your world is OK.

Had a great two hour mountain bike ride today in the blazing sun (have to make room for more beer) got to commute into London tomorrow but the summer's jacket and trous are coming out and I won't leave until well after the rush hour. Its 42 miles from my house to Parliament Sq which is just round the corner from work and best time ever was 42 minutes.

I sense a new PB coming on!:D

She's a beastie but a classy beastie, whereas the ZZR was all ass and no pants.

Liking it a lot. Got a double screen on so can stand going faster than 70, fitting some crash bungs, got the heated grips on (though won't need those for another 3 months!) even set a new top speed on the satnav (which is also fitted and powered up in the bubble of the bigger screen) 141mph - obviously set on my recent trip to Germany officer!

I've had her for 4 months now and put 4.5k miles on the clock, previous owner did 1k in 12 months. When I first started using her she was drinking my petroleum than I was beer but it seems to have calmed now and we are getting 190-200 miles to the tankfull and still averaging 60-70mph.

If it wasn't for the fact that I wanted a 748 in yellow/996 in black as a weekend bike I'd be in love.

Next comes a 4-1 stainless set a can that tells people I'm coming and a power commander.

Still looking to kick my pal's arse on the way to Assen though!

How was turkey?

Turkey still is- we've only been here a fortnight (Bodrum) and are thoroughly enjoying ourselves.  It's like being on a proper holiday as we lie around the hotel pool in hot sunny, weather.  Lots to see and do, wifey's mother has come to visit and the food and people are super.  Plus it's waaay cheaper than Greece.

Turkey will be home for the next three months and it's all looking rather good.

Good to hear the bird is going well and that you're enjoying it.  And least it's being used properly now.
