I was standing at the side of the stage at that Hall and Oates gig (or maybe it way the year before?) - as their marketing manager at their label. I spent quite a bit of time with them, which was hilarious, as they hate each other and went everywhere in separate vehicles, had separate hotels, dressing rooms etc. Oates was actually alright - if a little detached from reality. He had a brat son called Tanner with him the whole time, but his wife was really nice and very cute.
Hall is one of the most unpleasant people I've ever met - totally up himself beyond belief. I told Oates about the Big Train Hall and Oates sketch and he said 'Oh, you mean they're taking shades and putting them in a ridiculous situation?'
Yeah... something like that. I got Talkback to copy the episode for me and gave it to his wife. I said 'I hope he's not offended.' She replied 'Nyahh... who cares?'
Oh, and I saw Kravitz in Glasgow that year too. Amazing. I have a signed single from that night.Last edited on Sat May 10th, 2008 08:35 pm by kraftwerk

As a wise man once said - "never meet your idols".
Vic Reeves and his missus were at the show aswell. Just lent a nice surreal air. She used to go to my school and was in my brothers year. We used to take the piss out of him and say "Nial for Nancy". She had an older sister who was better looking and with larger norks who i fancied. She knew this but i was too "chicken" to do anything about it until my friends put a message in the valentine issue of the school mag that i fancied her. I was mortified and could not even look her in the face after that. Bless!! Do i sound like Cousin Jack??
