Robbie Williams at Knebworth just for the magnitude of the event

First Guana Batz gig I saw at the Klubfoot about 20 years ago

The Longest Day in Nottingham 18 months ago because Stiff Little Fingers were there and so were King Kurt among others

King Kurt in Luton also about 20 years ago. Turning up in a transit with about 15 mates in the back. Opened the side door to get out and about a gazillion empty beer cans fell out followed by about 6 people. We got free entry :D

Paul Weller in London last year. Shame about the haircut though

1 - Midnight Oil at the Academy in Brixton. people only seem to remember these guys from the poppy and over produced albums they did, but live they were the best fucking band i've ever seen. it's tricky pulling off the whole sparse arrangements thing, but those cunts did it.  i know i'm gonna sound like a cunt for saying so, but when they  started playing Hercules and the whole  crowd moved as one.... man.

"this is something i will remember"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BE9i-NxAmNE&feature=related

2 - Soul Asylum at the venue in New Cross. another band who're remembered for the lame shit they did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDbfL75dXnw

3 - Snuff. any of the hundreds of gigs i saw in and arund london, but esp the farewell gig at the kilburn national and the secret reunion gig .

4  - Descendents, highbury grage. mainly cos i never thought i'd get to see them.

5 - The Drams, any of the gigs i saw in autumn 06

6 - Slobberbone, Borderline

7 Richard Buckner, Borderline. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bG9idvYmV8

8 - Doughboys, Fulham Greyhound

fuck this thread, between the ages of 16 and 35 i must've seen thousands of gigs, who fucking cares what my favourites were

Too tough to call, nor remember exact dates or venues.  Saw most of the big groups/bands in the early 80s.  Favourites today were:

Thin Lizzy, Motorhead, AC/DC, Ramones and Hawkwind...

Nah, far too difficult; so many missed off.  Queen, Quo, Clapton, Maiden, UFO, Ozzy, Skorpians, etc

Prior to leaving the UK, I have seen them pretty much every year since my first gig, "Iron Fist Tour" in Leeds, 1981?.  Fucking great fun on stage and a top night out.  Dr Feelgood was another must-see band every year.

I really miss live music.  :(

Still Judas Priest in July.  :D

Err... a selection:

Acid Reign 1988 Edinburgh Venue
House of Pain/Cypress Hill 1993 Glasgow Barrowlands
Chicane 2000 Sydney Atrium
Simple Minds 2007 Tempus Two Winery
Ian Brown 2008 Sydney Metro

All great gigs, but I have to give a special mention to Groove Armada and the Proclaimers - two groups no-one should miss.

I missed one and it really neads to be on there.

Etta James at the BB King Blues Bar in New York. Went there for my honeymoon and tied it in with the gig. Had "At Last" as my first dance.

I arranged it without the other half knowing. She thought we were going for a meal and ended up with VIP tickets at the best table in the house
