What you see as an excuse, I see as a reason........ pure and simple.

I seem to be welcome here as long as I'm not "too" Yank, "too" nationalistic,  "too" pro-gun,. "too" sugary or treacly, "too" whatever.....   In other words, I'm welcome here as long as I fit into your neatly prescribed parameters of what a "proper poster" should be.  I don't remember ever personally attacking anyone, except when pushed to the wall.   To my mind, I've tried a lot of things...... humor, admiration, simple pleas.....  but really the message from most of you seems to be the same: change yourself, and we will accept you.   Bunch of forum bullies, you are really.... and PaulR is the biggest bully of them all.  Tolerance?  My ass.

There's no point to this, really.  You don't like my persona or my posts,  so why bother?  Look at the beginning of this thread: I wanted to explore something interesting, I thought, in an interesting way, I thought.... the motivation to ride, and what does everyone concentrate on?  The fact that I put the word "Yank" in a subtitle......

Fucking ridiculous.

Hey, I'm on a roll here. Funnily enough, I don't think you're a twat, or anything like one - and I've never called you anything of the kind, either.

Bully? Now there's a thought. Didn't realise I was intimidating you, I thought I was just responding to your repeated plea for discussion - maybe you're more comfortable when you're setting the agenda, not someone else?

You just seem to me to be obsessed with being an American, a point which I thought might be interesting to explore - but the quality of debate just isn't there these days, is it.

Forget it, and have a nice day.

Would appear to me that anyone who is patriotic gets a bit of a bashing on any forum.... I get it too ... Those who happen to know I'm Scottish, assume I'm like the rest of the flag wearing, football loving numpties I'm surrounded by and patriotic to the hilt.... I'm not (any more)...

BUT I DO use my nationality as an excuse.........   to drink more than the recommended limit :D

For the avoidance of doubt, and just for the record - AGAIN - I don't think there's anything wrong with being American at all. Never have, and I've never said so.

No, he really fucking isn't actually. He is one of the quietest and amiable people i have met in a long time. But, I HAVE met him and I am sure anyone that HAS met him can say the same. He hasn't resorted to name calling or bitching, merely stating the profoundly obvious.. Fucking deal with it.

And a fine burd you are with it too. You have made a few posts here and haven't felt the need to tell everyone where you come from Ligs. Paul wasn't being rude IMO he was stating what I have noticed for some time. I am sure he never meant to be offensive, but then again whenever Jack DOES state he is an American he usually becomes overly defensive..  Pity really..

Don't worry about it Trix - that's just CJG: quick to take offence, quick to give it.

No big deal.

"Fucking deal with it?"

Okay, let me see if I can.....   I'm not an American, never have been, don't want to be.......

I am a globalist, a one-world proponent, a "citizen of the world........," a "Globe," to be exact......

I suddenly see the light, and America is too rich, too fat, too loud, too militaristic, and too vulgar to be afforded an equal place at the world's Table of Respect.  I wonder why they seem happy over there?  Guddamned fools.......  don't know how to recognize how miserable they truly are!

Paul is not a bully or a twat, and I don't know how I ever came to feel that way...... I must have just provoked him beyond measure with my defensiveness.

I'm wrong; you're all right.......

There.   I've dealt with it.  Hope you feel better, Trix.

I sure do.

See? THAT is precisely the point a few are making, you simply have a victim mentality Jack. Not one person has said that in this thread. Your inability to let things go is a concern..

I wasn't having a pop at Paul.... my post just came after his.....  besides, isn't he Scottish too?

Just possibly Jack has got to the stage that he is 'taking the piss' about announcing he is American in every post.....  perhaps he thinks if he didnt, someone else would bring it up ;)

Well, I got that, but he's only started since Paul mentioned it.. No one gives a shit where he comes from as much as him. And good for Jack, no hard feelings

D-man i wasn't picking a fight. Just dont get why jack gets so much shit when at worse he is treacly. He seems alright to me. And its that yank-bashing thing that is dull and gets on my tits of which this just seems a slightly more subtle version because everyone on here is far too clever to just come out and be honest AND WHY DO I FEEL LIKE I'M BACK AT 6TH FORM WITH A LOAD OF OVER OPINIONATED FUCKING STUDENTS!!!.

I need a holiday...again.

Again why the fuck can't Jack be proud he's a yank and it not put peoples back out? he didn't personally invade Iraq. Whatever - hes a big boy and can fight he's own battles. It's a shame that it's not "cool" or "groovy" to be patriotic in this country. I don't think that it's such a bad thing...

If some random middle-aged fella' on a forum says something isn't cool, don't take it in high regard.

I'm patriotic.
