Wanted.
Helmet bag. But one that can't be cut through, i.e. has steel mesh lining or the like - for locking to bike.

Check Ebay, Carbs for 97 - £50 plus postage - Spares Unlimited. Two heads listed - but with just FH, FJ etc, dont know what year the letters refer to.

Wanted:
The round twisty knob from an Oxford HotGrips heated grips control unit.
*Sighs in weary resignation*
Mine fell off in a crash in September and the heated grips won't work without it...

In line with Forum policy as outlined in the Auction Thread here:
http://bike.mywowbb.com/forum36/10323.html
we're regretfully going to have to pull the plug on this topic.
As has been mentioned above, neither BIKe or its publisher can get involved on any dispute arising from any potential problem(s) emanating from a sale on the forums.
We hope you understand and appreciate your continued support.

A tad overkill on both fronts ,
If I advertise in the Manchester Evening News and I have a dispute with a buyer the buyer does not have a dispute with the M.E.N. THEY HAVE A DISPUTE WITH ME.
I have never heard of a newspaper being sued over somebody,s ad no matter how bad the discription of the item turned out to be

Could there not be a section that you can't post to unless you have agreed to this?
The Publisher specifically disclaims all and any liability to the Buyer, Advertisers, readers and users of any kind (other than death or personal injury caused by the Publisher's negligence or breach of statutory duty) for loss or damage of any nature whatsoever and however arising, whether due to inaccuracy, error, omission or any other cause, and whether on the part of the Publisher or its employees or agents or any other person. Save in the case of death or personal injury caused by the Publisher's negligence or breach of statutory duty, under no circumstances shall the Publisher be liable to the Buyer or the Advertiser or any other party for any special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages of any kind, including, without limitation, those resulting from loss of sales, loss of goodwill, loss of profits, whether or not the Publisher was advised of the possibility of such losses.

So I'm ok saying I've got a set of Oxford Humpback luggage for sale. It consists of 2 paniers and a tank bag and I'm open to offers. It's not for sale on here, but advertised in my local paper. PM me for details of the paper.
Honestly, what a crock. All you need to do is put a disclaimer in the first post.
There's a whole host of difference between hosting an auction and having a place for advertising stuff for sale to other members.
This is the only forum I've been on where you can't sell stuff, unless the forum is part of a paper/magazine that sells for sale slots.....

It is good to have a "For Sale" section. As it is possible to go to the last post of a thread without reading the first, how about a dedicated board with a disclaimer in the title?

Because it was a mod that suggested it was a good idea and we could trial a sticky after I asked if I could post a For Sale post.
If they'd said NO right at the beginning, none of this would've happened.

I was being a little ironic, bearing in mind that Bike and MCN have the same owners, and therefore might see a For Sale section here as losing income for the small ads in MCN.

It is a good idea but if directives have changed then we have to go with them.
And it was certainly trialled, wasn't it? How would you rate its success though? Have we any feedback on what was sold/bought?
