All the British channels offer this service now, wher you can donwload any programme off the net and watch it on your pc. Trouble is, it is only for people in the UK and I am this is determined by the ISP address which shows you as being ot f the country.
Anyway around this? Any cleffer IT bod got a fix for this? Ta.

A clever pun, a name of a site or a method to view?

That's what I am trying to do, but it recognise I am outside of the UK and will allow me to view.

Thanks Xanimus. I had an identical request. I've tried you links but I'm getting a page not found with http://www.hidemyback.net
Googling for UK proxy takes me into a world of pop up advertising, and sites that link to other sites that advertise proxy servers.
I did find one actual proxy that let me surf through it, but the BBC Iplayer still failed to load telling me that I was not in the UK.
My Dad has broadband. There must be a way of hooking into his PC and then transferring the files back.

Ah, what you need is a slingbox- check it out here (if you can endure the awful voice over...)

thanks for the slingbox idea, I have an american friend who watches all his baseball games at 3am in the morning through a slingbox in a friends house.
Only things is, looking at the website and faq, it doesn't say that it accepts analogue input, everything has to be digital. Can anybody confirm that?

Drop the makers an email.
The BBC is going digital now anyway, and why would you want to watch anything else than Auntie Beeb? (waves Union Jack and sings....."God Save Our....etc etc).

| An add on digi box costs around £20-30 (prolly less now) in the local supermarket.

Yep, choices, choices, choices. Thanks for the suggestions.
The main reason for wanting to British tv is so that my 2 and half year old can watch CBeebies, and so follow "Charlie and Lola".
It seems I have three options:
I can point my sattelite dish in a different direction, buy a decoder and watch off the Astra sattelite.
Persevere with finding a way of hiding my IP address and watching on the computer.
Persuade my dad to buy a digibox, a slingbox and hook it ups to his broadbank connection. He still hasn't got round to installing the web cam I gave him four years ago (he is retired and so 'doesn't have time).
I think I'll go with satelite option, even though it will mean climbing up on my roof, messing around with the existing dish, losing the connection I have now, failing to find the one I want, and getting somebody professional in to fix it, who will tell me that it doesn't work anyway.
At least this way, I will finally get the programs on my tele, not my PC.

Damn right. (Although I like channel four).
I'd swap 100 channels for 2 or 3 good ones.
Deregulation is shit. Bring back Lord Reith!

Here is an update for those interested.
I got BBC, ITV, file 4 and best of all CBEEBIES (and other channels) working last night.
All I needed to do was point my sattelite dish to 28.2 degrees (the astra 2 satelite), and plug in a set top box between the sattelite and the TV.
This was made even eaiser by the fact that my neighbour is a retired satelite dish fitter so he basically did it for me, while I looked on.
The list of channels is available here:
http://www.ddelec.com/engdig.htm
If I bought a sky card, I would be able to decode all the sky stuff too. Otherwise, I need no subscriptions to anything. Amazing.
Thanks for the help and suggestions along the way.

If you can get German Eurosport, you'll get free Moto GP too.

Cool, I'll have a look.
We got it for the kids really so they can see CBBC, but also see that there is Babeworld, LivexxxBabes and Essex Babes so we are sorted for family entertainment!
