Well, just copying in fact and a duff question, but how does one open the facility to add multiple copies to a "page" so that it can be accessed to paste into another area?

Does that make sense?  I'll try again.

I can quite happily copy a passage of text from an original document/item and paste it into another area, for example.  However, as soon as I copy another piece of text from the original, the first text copy is overwritten and I may wish to retain that and indeed, have more examples to transfer.

Occasionally, this feature will open automatically as a kind of paste board in Word or Excel, but how can I do this manually and more so, when I am not using either W or E?

Better?  Thanks.  :)

The Windows clipboard, as you have found, only allows 1 copy/paste before the next cop overwrites the previous. So I use Notepad.

Copy what I want then paste it.

Right then, this Notepad malarky.  How can I access it when browsing or if I need it?

Would that not be the same as just keeping a Word doc open and copying & pasting to that?  :?

Not entirely sure what you mean, but in the Office 2003 version of Word, you get to pick and choose which of your recently copied items you paste. I had 23 on the go once, but I have no idea what the limit is.

It is the same as keeping Word open but...Notepad is on all Windows PC's.

It is a text file so doesnt add all the hidden characters to the text that Word uses to change the formatting and it is very small so doesnt take up PC resources to the extent Word does (not really relevant on modern PC/laptops).

To access : In XP -Start, Run. type notepad . Vista do the same but in start search  or download a 3rd party clipboard manager.
