Not for me, I have grown deeply weary of the subject; these days this topic makes me want to go riding in just flip-flops and a sequined thong... :P

Don't mention dark visors, you'll start the "what if you ride through a tunnel with those on? It will be dark!" topic...

Shortly before the discussion about, cowhide or kangaroo leather, and which is better.

Would the thong have a CE crack protector?

How come one has his light on and the other doesn't?

I guess that applies on having your light on to be visible to others...which was also a quite popular thread a while ago about lights...and I cant help it to think that Karter said that on purpose...:D

As for the discusion...how about snorkels...it will definetely give a retro touch compared with the riding goggles in the days of olde...:P

Me too. And I made a short trip at lunchtime wearing loafers.

Life on the edge, yeah!

I'll get my coat.

Seemed ironic (and, with hindsight, amusing even) that I'm the holier-than-thou-one in the ATGATT gear, then I go & get my foot run over for the first time ever.

Dooleys point is similar to that made by Clarkson - if car drivers were forced to drive around with a large steel spike coming out of the steering wheel boss - rather than airbags & crumple zones - then there wouldn't be any road accidents.

'sayin.

Full leathers in 70 plus temperatures will make you melt, go light headed and more likely to crash.

Jeans, textile or leather jacket, boots and gloves.  Helmet should be optional....

A lot of criticism of youger bikers apparel on this thread.  I guess we all started out with big bikes, loads of kit and sensible mature heads???

when I had my accident a couple of weeks back, I was wearing a full face helmet, CE armoured textile jacket, winter gloves, tracksuit trousers and trainers.

I was in a rush and staying on 30mph zones so went for the trackies.

My injuries were Broken left thumb, right radius, bruised ribs and coller bone. oh yes small scartch's on left knee.

Top half protected and reveived breaks and bruises botom half not and came away relatively scar free.

all people keep telling me is that if I was wearing my proper trousers my knee would have been okay.

I'm not saying people should or shouldn't wear protection, but in my case it would have been worth it, not to protect my leg but to protect my ears from the lectures.
