Now I have the little box of tricks up and running, I was just wondering if anybody knew how to plan the route on the computer and then upload it to the machine? I would assume you click on the bit that says "operate my device" but every time I do it says there are no maps available!
Anybody any clues?!

Always struck me as more of a Garmin feature. TomTom HOME sucks, other than for updating maps etc.
Sorry.

I think you have to use a 3rd party bit of software.
TomTom say use advanced planning on the device.
I only use mine to get to/from rideouts tbh.

| Thats a bit of a crap flaw in it then really, I suppose its not a massive deal as there are plenty of biker websites that I can look good roads up on and places to go etc, but for £350 they should have got it right by now!!

Use Google maps to plan your route, then copy the URL into this site and hey presto, it’ll create an itinerary file for you to upload to your Tomtom. http://houghi.org/tomtom/index.php
You need to zoom in on start & finish and move a few meters along road so it can get a precise start & finish point, but otherwise works brilliantly. And is free!
