My nephew had his 2nd b-day Friday. The family got together over the weekend, I spent Saturday night at my brother's house, and rode home up 49 Sunday, snapping photos along the way.

The b-day boy, my nephew, David.

My dad posed with David & my other nephew, Paul, for a pic with my bike. Paul will be 1 in July.

And my mom trying to figure out how her camera works with my brother.

Oh yeah, I did go riding:

Just a gorgeous day and a near perfect road.

North of Jamestown, there was a ton of traffic. I rode to Placerville, ate a late lunch and rode up to Ice House Road, thinking I'd recon Wentworth.

Ice House Road was great, there was snow in spots along the edge of the road, but not in the road. It was clean, with no water running across the road. Pretty much perfect, actually, and just about no one was up there. I saw a couple Jeeps and a few bikes, but that was it.

Unforturnately, Wentworth was impassible. So back down Ice House Rd, back down 50 to Placerville and up 49 to home.  Thanks for looking.

Thanks guys.  I'm glad you enjoyed the photos.

Expatin, I'm sure there must be some great roads in Turkey.  For kicks I was just looking at Turkey in Google Earth.  Lots of squiggly lines started popping up.

Oh there are lots of squiggly bits....all with many different surfaces.....most loose / melting / lifted / dug up / shiny / pot-holed....... almost all absolute crap. Then there are the drivers.......

Well, in that case hit me up if you ever find yourself on a bike in California.  I'd love to show you some of our roads.

Wentworth is now passable.  I took a ride up with some of the SCR guys yesterday.  Took a little vid.  I don't have enough material for a full ride report so I thought I'd post it here.  Enjoy:

Bill, who posts as TT120 on the SCR forum, took his camera along.  I didn't take these:
