| Some of the older ones may remember Midge's mechanic. This is him, Mark Forsythe, ex racer and journalist, currently freelance. He has a regular column in the Sunday Star which he featured us in last week. Attachment: jse_019.jpg (Downloaded 140 times)

| Silkolene lent us a couple of Brolly Dollies for some photos and for the grid procedure. A bit more organised than last year when i had to round one up from the spectators area. Attachment: jse_014.jpg (Downloaded 139 times)

| Sorry that there was no report from the Thruxton round but we felt that it was perhaps best forgotten apart from Midge's strong ride to get 14th at the end from 27th on the grid. We will all be striving to gain more acceptable results at Oulton this weekend. I look forward to writing it up next week.

Hey guys,
Here is the report from Oulton ... and a little pic to go with it for ya ... Midge blurred ... ahead of my hero ... Mr Ben Wylie.
Local rider, Ben Wylie, struggled through a difficult weekend to finish respectably, aboard the Yamaha R6 in the Fuchs Silkolene British Supersport Championship.
Ben started the weekend well, with a top fifteen placing in the first of the two free practices, taking place at the Cheshire and home track for Market Drayton rider, Oulton Park. He also recorded the fastest time through the start finish straight speed trap, by over 2mph, which is a huge margin in such a close championship. In the second of the free practices, Ben improved his time by over a second, being twelth quickest, again in the top three through the speed traps.
On the wet Sunday, the first qualifying session took place, but Ben was on a very quick lap when he had a big crash throwing him from the bike and leaving him battered and bruised, and down in thirtieth position on the grid, provisionally. The second session took place in drying conditions in the afternoon, where Ben made up yet more time, sitting in tenth position for most of the session, but finished in eighteenth, on the fifth row of the grid, alongside team mate, Midge Smart.
In the warm up before the afternoon race, the local rider was quicker again, placing himself in fifteenth, again fastest through the speed trap.
Ben started the race well, moving up from his grid position, but then after just three laps the race was stopped due to a bad crash, making the red flags come out, stopping the race.
With the wrong tyres at the restart, Ben was fighting a loosing battle, but managed to salvage something, by bringing the Wylie and Holland Racing Yamaha R6 home in 28th position, after a long battle with three other riders. Considering that the Market Drayton rider had had a huge crash on cold tyres at the first round, he did well to keep the bike upright, when so many fell in what was a packed field.
“I was disappointed with the weekend, but after a crash on Sunday, I was stiff, sore and had a raging headache. I’m looking forward to Brands Hatch this weekend, where I will be in 16th on the grid and pushing for a top ten finish” said the upbeat rider, “After the wrong tyre choice I was too cautious in the opening laps, ruining my chances of a decent result”
Wylie and Holland Team mate, Midge Smart pulled a great result out the bag when he finished in fifteenth position, picking up points.
The team head to Brands Hatch this weekend for a two day re run of the first round, that was cancelled due to snow.

They are top guys ... and a brilliant team to work for ... it has to be said, they are awesome ... and im not just saying that for a pay rise. Yes, i was probably out at some corner some where pointing my lens at a fast bike!
Flower is so sweet, and always willing to explain technical stuff to me when i bother him when hes working on the bikes, and always up for a laugh ... hes one of the nicest guys ive ever met ...
Ben ... hes my hero! He is a sweety pie really as well ... your just not allowed to say that cos it dents his masculine fascade! But he would do anything to help you out, and i would count him as one of my true friends ... a lovely guy, and although he has a bad start to the season, a great racer, and race bike engineer / mechanic. Your a star Benny Boy.
T Dog ... hes a dirty b@$t@rd, but he cares, and hes lovely. Again, a sweety pie at heart, but tries to put on the manly man face ... hes not really! Ha ha ha.
Krusty ... a clown ... nothing more to say ... part from watch out for some of his comments, because he will suprise you with some of the things he comes out with! Love you Mr K ... Roger my ... ... he he he
Cliff ... Loves red! A top guy, and lets face it, he will never manage to log a computer onto this forum, so i could say what i like ... but hes a sweety pie, and looks after me very well ... thanks Cliff, if you ever read this!
Nice Ann ... shes lovely, and almost like another mother to me. A truely lovely lady, if sometimes a little dipsy, but that just adds to her lovelyness! She would help anyone (where Ben gets it from) and will try and sell you a t shirt most likely, or hand you a brew!
I dont know the new team members well enough yet ... but ask me at the end of the year, and Ill let you know what i think ... but thats my run down of the lovely guys that i spent my weekends with last year, and will be doing again this year .. .see you at the weekend, in Kent Guys ... and another pic for you ... thought itwas pretty!

After yesterdays 2 practise sessions, under sunny skys Team W&H posted the 16th and 17th best times with Midge fastest through the speed traps and Ben 4th equal.
The grid is as the qualifing from the snowed off meeting with Midge on the 3rd row and Ben 1 back.
Hopefully will be shown on British Eurosport 2 starting at 1530 after the WSB race 2, if you're not out riding enjoying this lovely weather...................
