Right now my mobile phone calander will accept the entry :D

Maybe anyone else from Essex/Suffolk/Norfolk area going can convoy en route.

If there's a few 125's we can stick to the A roads.

Just realised, I'd have to travel a round trip of 180 miles in order to do a charity run of 125 miles...   Cool...  I'm up for that.!  Although I might end up a bit sore afterwards.

Righty Ho peeps. There is a change of plans. I am going to have to re arrange the day for this event as something has come up HOWEVER I now have a route kind of planned out.

We will go from Dunstable Downs to Hemsby in Norfolk as it is about 125 miles between the two and the OCC shop is there which seems like a good place to conclude the ride. I will have to get back to you all about the auction as it is going to be difficult to run the two things on the same day as I think I am personally going to be pretty knackered after the ride as the CG is not very comfy for long periods.

Cor Blimey...   This has now grown to a total of 440ish miles round trip..   Anyone fancy doing the BiKE 440 on a 125..?  Think I may have to get hold of a cushion.

How's about doing cheap B&B in Beds the night B4, break up the journey.

And the Marauder's already got a cushy seat - compared to Punky's CG anyway :D

Not fer my poor ass it ain't...   Last time I did a 200 mile round trip, with regular rest stops, I couldn't sit down for 2/3 days.!!!

Sounds like a plan to do a cheap B&B in Beds the night before and possibly a cheap B&B in Hemsby the night after...  Gonna have to have somewhere to rest my weary head once the beer has kicked in after the riding.!

I know of a camp site in hemsby where we are planning on staying the night. I will get some prices for you guys and post them up.

I'll look into BB's or campsites in or around Dunstable as well. As this is going to be a campsite jobby I will aim to reschedule in early summer so the weather isn't too crap.

I know this is a long trip, even if you have already said you want to do this please do not feel you have to. :)

Oh and those in the Norfolk area, why don't you meet up along the road if you don't want to do the whole BB or campsite thing? I'm the only one who really HAS to do 125 miles......

Would be a little nicer during the summer months, but if last year was anything to go by, after April we'd be stuffed anyway..!:shock::shock::D:D:P

True, but you never know as I am doing this in memory of four people they might decide to give us a hand in that department ;)

I'll have probably sold my Marauder by summer, was just holding on it if this was in spring, but I will still come albeit on my Harley if that's OK (and the suit offer still stands - it's in the loft;)).

I have now got a Plan for the Cancer Research Run other wise known as the 125 Challenge. For legal and logistics reasons, this year I will be the only sponsored rider.

I am hoping to get this arranged for the 28th of June, should have nice weather then. Will be leaving The Bell in Pitstone at 10:00 (Post code for those with Sat Nav is LU7 9AS), and riding to the OCC shop in Hemsby (post code NR29 4HS). This should take about 4 hours allowing time for rest stops and traffic. We will have two groups, a faster group (which should take about 3 hours to get there) lead by my mate Rob on his Fireblade who will arrive in hemsby first to welcome me and the slower group in. The slower group will be lead by Andrew in his car, Andrew is first aid trained and will carry a jerry can of petrol drink and sweets (and fags for me). The slow group will also be followed by my mate Russ who will be carrying drinks sweets, petrol, a tool kit and will also have a single bike trailer on the back of his car.

There is a campsite close to the OCC shop, I am going to get in touch with them when the date is confirmed and make sure we will have parking spaces reserved for us, if we lock the back wheel of all the bikes together they should be fairly secure. I will also post up details for booking a pitch if you want to stop over.

As I am the only sponsored rider, you do not need to ride the full distance. Please feel free to come along and peel off at any time. Because of this you will have to signal to the rider in front when you are pulling off so we can continue riding to mirrors and keep the groups together as I would hate to think of people getting lost in areas they don't know. If you want to join the ride along the way, please make yourself known at the next rest stop. The point and tail end Charlie of each group will be in Cancer Research T shirts. I will also be in the Cancer Research T shirt.

I will do my best to make this a Bi Annual event, and will plan to get all riders sponsored on the next on. On the later ones, I think it would be cool to get groups of 5 125's to commit to doing 25 mile sections of the route, each group having a minimum of £125 sponsorship (125cc, 125miles, £125... see where I am going with this....).

I will finalise the date and confirm ASAP. As I realise some people may need to book holidays for this or campsites.
