Hi everyone. I am organising a ride around the uk, taking in the four corners to include lands end and john o groats, only using B roads we hope. We are starting on the 28th of april 2008 at edinburgh castle. I have spoken to Historic Scotland to start in the castle at the one o clock gun, leaving sharp at 8am. We will be heading south for Dover then over to lands end. Then back up north to cape wrath then over to john o groats then back to edinburgh. I will be contacting Bike shops on the route to ask if they can advertise the event. I will be posting dates and times when we will be at certain points along the way so any other interested bikers can join in for the ride or if they want just to do part of the ride.

We have chosen three charities for this event, Unicef, which sean and i done our last trip for, and Cancer research uk as my brother has just completed his chemo which has hopefully cured his illness. Finally we have chosen CHAS as this is a charity close to all our hearts. My bro will be joining us on the ride as he has just passed his bike test and bought himself a shiny beemer 650 gs.

I have contacted football clubs throughout the uk and abroad and have been lucky with a few so far including Glasgow Rangers,Celtic,Aberdeen, Liverpool,Man Unt ,Everton, Newcasle unt, and Man city to name a few. All the tops are signed by the players and will be auctioned at a charity auction being held at my work place. All ticket proceeds on the night will be for charity, for this there will be a four course dinner and a talk from a sporting personality,Jim Leishman MBE. The cost of a ticket for the evening is £55 to include wine and a bucket of beer, a big thank you goes out to my suppliers for this one, this is being held on the 5th of feb 08.

There will also be a raffle draw taking place with top prizes to include a 4 ball at st andrews, weekend break at crieff hydro and hopefully a 4 ball at the K club in dublin plus loads of other prizes which are still coming in. I will be selling raffle tickets in the next couple of weeks at £2 a ticket so dig deep folks and pm me for a strip.

There is other things i am organising which i will keep every one posted about. So if anyone wants to join in on the ride or wants to sponsor me or even wants a sponsor form please contact me. I will be adding to this as soon as i get other details about the ride, also busy working on our web page so please keep checking for updates. I will add pictures later on cheers for now jim

  2. I live in Bristol and if i was going to do it i would have to do a whole lap.
  3. and i dont like the way people look at you when your on a fifty(ie you ARE a chavvy prick because you have a fifty)

Hey jimsgs12adv, I only just spotted this event, im a bit gutted! It sounds really good and even starts / fin near me for a change! But I go away for a week on the 26th April, though im going to Durness, its right next to Cape Wrath!! I've been up there a good few times and if you've not been before you will love it, amazing roads and excellent visibility as their is next to no trees (just watch out for the sheep and mind it is lamb season about then and they love to run over the road to be next to mum just as your going past!!

I will be up there for a week, will you make it up that way before the 3rd May? I would love to show you where you can get the best hot chocolate ever, or even to just give you a wave and get a couple of raffle tickets.
