Erm... right, here we go:
The KTM's engine is fast, yes. 140bhp fast. It hasn't got the enormous midrange kick of a 1098 though, with a much smoother power delivery that sometimes hides how fast it really is. That said, there is a slight increase in urgency from about 7000rpm as it really gets in its stride. Hope this clears things up.
Oh yeah, and I didn't mention any issues with the gearbox because I didn't have any issues with the gearbox on either of the two bikes I rode...

Just thought I would mention, both my current Superduke and previous 950SM gearboxs were `tight `and notchy until the bikes got a couple of thousand mile on them, now there pretty slick, not as slick as some of the best from Japan but definitly not troublesome, the whole engine takes a good while to loosen up, seems to be the way things are with KTMs

I do them all the time on my '93 Blade and my '98 VFR. However, roads are a bit narrower there eh?

I do them all the time on both my '93 'blade and the '98 VFR. But, then again, roads are a bit narrower in Old Blighty.

Get yourself dwon to Albion in Exeter, they have an RC8, with a number plate so must be for test rides.
Hi Propane,
I went down to Albion for a quick look. i could only see the right side of one. There was a black plastic connector with two wires hanging out under the tank. Ive had enough of that kind of thing with my Aprilia. I'd feel like a fraud taking one out for a test, but if i was forced to buy a new bike, it would probably be one of these or the new Blade. I bet there are no wires hanging out of the Honda. Someone test them back to back please.
