I want a snorting, bad tempered bull of a bike. When you see it coming towards you, you should really see this....

I'm guessing Chicago?
As statues go that is very very good, really makes an impact.
I like the bike, I'd have one.
It's in New York, agreed it's a top statue. I really like the bike too....just not in that green

I think it says everything about who they're targeting the DN at - probably people who don't know too much about bikes.
Perhaps you will get to [s]test ride[/s] interview some FF- breasted top totty before Loaded

Sounds like a reasonable strategy to me. I can't imagine many existing bike owners will want to move onto one, so why not target current non-riders with something easy to ride? Personally I reckon they might lose out to the new range of three wheel scoots, which are an absolute hoot.

Honda already make the CBF1000 for steady sensibly types, surely they need a crazy-assed naked to compete with FZ1s and B-kings and the like.

That's a shame about the DN-01 - I recon that thing can tell us a lot more about the future of bikes than another generic naked inline 4.

I want a naked Blade - knock off the very top end by changing the sprockets so you get a bit more ummph low down (now that would be a beast!)
slap on flat bars and away you go!

| The 'bile' green colour is hobbiral, the headlight looks something between a big zit or a gass mask, that stupid 'lightning' fairing is pointless so lets hope that's the bad points and that it will in fact be a wolf in sheeps (all be it one ugly coloured sheep) clothing

My local Honda dealer tells me that we'll be able to ride one soon- they hit our shores in July......
Should go as well as it looks, I can't wait.

| Compared to a SuperDuke? Different, very different. The SuperDuke's light and lively, frantic, constantly hyperactive, with an instant snap to it absolutely everywhere. There's more to the CB1000R, it feels a bit heavier, denser. There's bucket-loads of midrange though, it's just it comes in that smooth, deceptive four-cylinder whine rather than a brash, beastly V-twin punch. The CB at least gives an option to play sensible, where the SuperDuke can't. But it's also definitely more hooligan than the Hornet 900.

I agree with the first part ,but I also think the SD can do sensible,I`ve put nearly 10,000 on mine in 10 months mostly commuting, though now I wondering about just how sensible I am

Well, you know what I mean. You can do sensible things on a crazy bike, but that doesn't make the bike itself any less crazy - I've done my weekly shop at Tesco on a Ducati 999R, but it was still a 100% fire-breathing badass. We rode across Spain on a CBR125 last month but that didn't make it a tourer. Craig Jones does vertical wheelies on a V-Rod but it's still a shit stunt bike.
I guess I'm talking about the bike's character, the aura it projects - the SuperDuke doesn't feel like it has an off button, the CB feels more naturally civilised. Am I making sense? Of course not. It's still early. I need a bacon roll and an overpriced coffee.

Very interested in this piece.
I owned a Hornet 6, have ridden a SD but have never ridden a Hornet 9.
Is it as flickable as a Hornet- how does the handling compare?

Anyway - whaddya wanna know? What are you hoping for? Big, beasty, rip-snorting, focused fire-breathing trouble-maker of a thing (KTM SuperDuke, Aprilia Tuono) or more like the softer, friendlier every-day practical Hornet 900?

MFG
PS - They're also launching the DN-01, but they're not letting us ride it.
When a review appearing in the mag? Or have I missed it already?
