The new Fireblade-engined CB1000R is gonna be launched later this week. I rekcon it's the best-looking Honda in ages, but then I did have laser eye surgery last year so my vision might be off still.

Anyway - whaddya wanna know? What are you hoping for? Big, beasty, rip-snorting, focused fire-breathing trouble-maker of a thing (KTM SuperDuke, Aprilia Tuono) or more like the softer, friendlier every-day practical Hornet 900?

MFG

PS - They're also launching the DN-01, but they're not letting us ride it.

Please Mr Honda, not a "softer, friendlier every-day practical" bike. There are enough of those (great that they are).

Let's have something with a coke habit, a gambling problem and wife-beating tendencies.

It would look great, if that exhaust wasn't so distracting, and the number plate holder were junked.

It would be great if it's an animal of a machine, but I suspect it'll be a sheep in wolf's clothing.

I want a snorting, bad tempered bull of a bike. When you see it coming towards you, you should really see this....

I'm guessing Chicago?
As statues go that is very very good, really makes an impact.

I like the bike, I'd have one.

I think the ppl in Honda are colour blind- they have managed to make a very good looking bike dull- the italian version that featured in Bike was stunning, same thing with the new fireblade, although the colours made an ugly bike uglier!

Looks like it would make a good stunt bike :)

Be nice to see some decent suspension/handling.

You see, I was right. Without the bloody ugly can and the hideous plate holder, it looks much better. Still a bit fussy though. A real Manga bike.

I agree with you about the looks, although the Italian version is probably a wolf in a very expensive amarni suit,

I want to know why they aren't letting you ride the DN-01? Something to hide Mr Honda? Very suspect.

And that CB needs to be a rip snorting beast but I bet it isn't. My bet's on confident, capable, pleasant, comfy and .... nice. :P

My guess is that someone at the Honda factory pressed the start button on the DN-01 production line by mistake, and they are worried about what the press might say about them. Or they've only got a couple available, and they don't want any crashed....eh, MFG?

they're probably standing around it, shaking their heads saying "what the FUCK were we thinking?"

Honda told me they're letting the "Lifestyle" press ride the DN-01 before the bike-specific press (though I think they'll make an exception for MCN). We will get to ride one at some point, just not this week. Can't help think it's a bit odd, Honda letting 'Loaded' or some such ride one of their brand-new machines before Bike. I think it says everything about who they're targeting the DN at - probably people who don't know too much about bikes.
