SACK EVERYONE ELSE AND BRING BACK THAT WHITE HELMETED GOD, MARTIN CHILD !!
Disagree with you about Rupe but agree they should find Mr. Child.

The VFR750 was a great alrounder.
God save me from another month of R.P. crap.
I logged in to say exactly that - many years ago, when RP was editor of Performance Bikes in its heyday, he was always praising the VFR750, to such an extent that I swore I'd never own one...
...until the day I bought a VFR800. Brilliant, it was. Feet-up, 2-up U-turn on the test ride. Yup, I was lost.
Anyway, full marks for consistency, RP, and I still haven't forgiven you for giving SH the job on PB...

| What about a V-3 1000???? Quite narrow, smoother than a twin, and unique....

I'd agree wityh the earlier popst ref the Daytona 955i. Now there's a second-hand long termer that'd be of interest.
Ok, OK I own a D955 so I'm biased but I bought one of the last 06 models as I thought that it'd be the last of a dying breed - The sporty road bike. Apart from being a bit of a stretch to the bars the bike's ruddy great.
In some ways I'm glad that Triumph haven't replaced it as it gives the bike something of a cult status - Well in my eyes at least.
Keep the thought-provoking articles coming RP. I for one really enjoy them plus I'm curious to see just what they get you for your next second-hand long termer.
