Yes your are probably right. The level of the language I used was slightly higher than I would ordinarilary use, so I apolagise to, you Dan and anyone else I offended, but I must admit I really dont consider him that great and I get fead up with the the fake praise he gets. The language might have been a little salty given the subject.

Dan turned up for the NW forumers night out,last year, and a great night it was
He also agreed to meet up at the NEC with anybody who wished to show up and meet him.
Ask him a question about travelling and you get an intelligent answer.

I am not keen on his writing, I remember reading an article once and thinking, that was pretty, now what about the bike? But, he seems like a good chap in every other respect though..

Gracious of you - And my apologies to you for the implied insult.
Writing, like any other creative form, is always going to be viewed subjectively. I happen to love Dan's writing and think that it brought colour to Bike; for me it's not always about the bike itself, but the journey, the life, and Dan epitomised that. But I can perfectly understand others who don't share this view not getting o with him.
