Fuckin' 'ell, you don't waste any time. You'll need a van. A big one. And some straps. Big ones. And if you think I'll enjoy watching you drive it away you're mistaken. Even though everyone else will be cheering. Especially Mike, who's got an aversion (bordering on a perversion) to keeping bikes in the lock-up even when they aren't getting in the way.
While you're here (as in at Media House), we'll thrash out the details of the story.
And also – when can you get it. Because I want to be there (here, wherever) and I'm out and about a lot over the next few weeks.
I'm in the morning of Weds 22nd, then all day Tues 28th, then Fri 31st... then I'm in from 10th Sept...
One final condition: when it's ready, I want another crack at JOG to LE on it! Ok, maybe not...

OK, van it is.
I'm going to Budapest towards the end of next week (doing a race school at the Hungaroring - want pics?) so it won't be until the end of the month - I'll give you a shout when I get back so we can fix a date.
You're more than welcome to do JOG to LE on it when it's finished - but it'll have clip ons, rear sets and no fairing by then... Mind you, the brakes will work a little better with any luck. Maybe take it round Brands instead?
I'll be in touch.

Certainly not instructor(!) - after 30 years of road riding, I've only recently decided to get into this track thingumy.
In fact I'm going as a guinea pig: next year these trips are going to be offered commercially, but next weekend is a test run. Four days - day one doing the tourist thing in Budapest, day two at the Hungaroring (with instructors, novice group in the morning, experienced group in the afternoon, then 6.00pm till 8.00pm general track sessions) day three road ride through Hungary to Slovakia and back, day four hangover.
It's a mixed ability group of 10 including young guys with fairly recent test passes, a couple of girlies and some experienced road/track riders. I'm the token old bloke... I know the guy who's going to run the UK end (same bloke I'm doing the BMW specials with, in fact), it's being organised by a Hungarian Suzuki dealership who already operate the race school. They supply the bikes for both days: Gixxer 600 track bikes for day two; Gixxer 600s, 1000s, V-Stroms and SV650s for day three. My name's on a K7 thou'.
Obviously I'm only doing it as a favour.

Sorry to speak in riddles. Yes; Paul gets the bike FOC, converts it into a majestic cafe racer, and tells us (you & me) how. In words and pics (tba).
Personally, I'm rather looking forward to it. Although I STILL can't believe the old tank is going. I was hoping to have another go at the record this winter.
