I enjoy BIKE but am I alone in finding the Cyril Green scribblings a bit sad?
His humour is the type I would expect from a sex starved teenager

Even if that were true, you wouldn't know it. You're a Suvverner.
Suvverners : sense of humour = Yorkshiremen : generosity = Merkins : irony = BRAKE : going fast = Bike Magazine Forums : motorcycle related posts = well I'm sure you get the idea by now.....

| I like the Cyril column. Sometimes it can be weak and sometimes I find it funny as fuck. But aussie humour isnt very sophisticated. Or even humourous.

It does have a vague scent of Benny Hill with a dash of Carry On and a splash of wink wink nudge nudge.
Tedious at times. Repetitive. Crap.

Just read FEB edition of BIKE.....
I'm almost too EMBARRASSED to leave this copy of BIKE out...
I honestly didn't think this was possible....CYRIL GREEN this month is even MORE PATHETIC than usual.....he's simply a WASTE OF SPACE !
Even the wierd graphics set reminded me of WHICH BIKE in the early eighties... & that was CRAP then !
Methinks....It's DEFINITELY TIME for SOMEONE ELSE to MAKE BETTER USE of Cyrils WASTED type space !

Not a vast `poll` so far but so far the huge majority seem to agree that his page is rubbish. You may ask why I read it then? Simply because I read it in the vain hope that one day I may think it is OK for change. Hasn`t happened yet!

I thought this month's was mildly amusing in its own random way, totally childish, but harmless. The sort of thing you come up with by just letting your fingers type without really thinking about it.

I don't know why half of you bother to buy the mag. You don't like Ogri. You don't like Cyril Green. I don't know. I'd wager on you lot moaning if Steve Parish had a column telling all about the pranks he got up to whilst riding in Grands Prix.
Keep going Cyril. Nice one. It's good to see so many puritanical twats on here upset.

Cyril Greens page is the only part of bike I do not enjoy if you must know. I happen to enjoy good humour, but his ramblings are more suited to a College rag mag than a publication for adults about motorcycling. Nobody has ever described me as puritanical. My mum would be so proud.

I agree withyou Blacktiger,The mag is very good,i just dont understand how "BIKE" put up with the ramblings of mr Green,Plus he probably gets good money for it as well,And your right about the college rag,Thats spot on!!!

You said it. All he's doing is spinning a yarn about what happened to him in the MOTORCYCLE industry. Some of the things he's written has had me in stitches.Last edited on Wed Jan 2nd, 2008 05:12 pm by Blacktiger

You should read Mr Green's column more often. His puntuation is 1000% better than yours.

'Uncle' Cyril is great, love reading the old purve's ramblings, more fun than Rupert 'Misery' Paul .

I like Cyril Green - its funny (& probably made up!)
Just be thankfull Bike is not like it was in the 80's with its dodgy personal ads. It used to be embarrassing to buy it back then so be thankful for small mercies & skip the page or cut it out if it offends you.
I personally think Ogri has had its day but if people like it then thats fine by me - iIjust dont read it.
