i've been told that cyril is one of the good guys, but it definitely strikes me as a load of bullshit. and if there's one thing i can spot it's bullshit. but who cares, i don't find it funny, so i'll just file it away with all the other stuff i don't find amusing

| Cyril's diatribe is one of the things I usually skip over in BIKE. I don't find it amusing, relevant or entertaining in any respect. It would seem to me to be something to fill a space with if you're stuck for time and need something, ANYTHING before the magazine goes to print. That said, if you like it then great, enjoy. Just not for me, thankyou very much.

Just what I do when (yet) another Ducati test appears. Or Fireblade, or R1, or ZXR, or GSX-R......

I'm a big fan of Cyril's, but then I am easily amused by purile drivel. I even read his column to my wife who also finds it funny.
I still find Viz funny too. Horses for courses and all that.

I'm shocked.
Do you really mean to tell me that there are people out there who don't enjoy every last word of every last issue of Bike? Appalling. I would ask for my money back if I were you. The very idea that there might be something in there that isn't to your taste. What is the world coming to?
It's a simple enough formula. Read the bits you like, skip over the rest.
Or buy Ride? The you would really have something to moan about.

Hey, Forum peeps – to help us target the magazine more accurately, would all of you who find Cyril's column – in its entire, glistening, magnificent length – unfunny, please let us know of the last 'thing' – joke, circumstance, literary piece, TV show, movie, anecdote, innuendo, whatever - that made you either laugh out loud or, at least, smile inwardly.
This is a serious point (humour is a serious business, right?) – we all like a laugh – I hope - but we all seem to find different things funny. What is it that makes you laugh? I'd love to know.

Can't help with this - I don't like the Cyril Green stuff at all.
Who/what do I find funny? Paul Merton, Lenny Bruce, Fat Freddy's Cat, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, The News Quiz, Green Wing...
I see Cyril Green as being more along the lines of Benny Hill. But hey, plenty of people liked Benny Hill, I guess.

Do you like the new guy presenting Never Mind The Buzzcocks??

| Most American "adult" cartoons crack me up. "Family Guy" is one of the best.

I like the Simpsons, Futurama and South Park from the States.
From the UK The Young Ones & Monty Python mostly.

| What is Cyril Green all about? last time i read it it just seemed like a load of made up bollocks. not funny just daft. Nowadays i just skip it so it doesn't bother me. Its like the channel button on me telly. I get to Cyril and just change channel to the next page. Personaly i'd give Dan the space. i'd much rather read a page of his musings every month.

Well, no actually. I find myself skipping over more and more of the mags content. Which is why I've let my subscription lapse.

There are other threads on this running at the moment- like new vs. old models.
Examining what 'real' bikers want, it's not always the latest tackle. This forum indicates that for many bikers, new bikes are not always high on the agenda- sure those models will be in a few years time.
I'd like a bit more print on travelling to Europe- routes, more funny stories about when trips went wrong. Interview with Stan Wilson was great - the highest mileage biker in the UK...
More inclusion of readers/subscribers on tests.
Articles on trackdays Uk and abroad.
Typically there are articles for what to make a good summer- I enjoy those it gives me a good to do list which I (slowly) work through.
What about making a good winter- are there options there?
Cyril Green was quite funny at first, the stories about spit roasting his wife and the German with the large member were quite funny. I skip it too now. Sometimes you have to call time I guess.
An article on how to avoid becoming a Bike Magazine forum addict would be good too.... I'm really spending far too much time on here now....
